The Scene – Clerys Boston is a nice bar with an inviting atmosphere located on the edge of the South End and Back Bay neighborhoods of Boston. It mostly attracts a crowd of young professionals in their mid to late 20s. When you enter Clerys Boston, to the left it is a restaurant setting with plenty of places to sit with a group of friends at night. To the right is a dedicated bar area with a bar running along the whole left wall and some seating along the front of the windows. You can also go downstairs which is more of a club area featuring a large room that they clear out and turn into a dance floor. If you walk through here, there is a room off to the side with another fairly large bar running along the left wall and seating along the right wall. There are flat screen HD TVs hanging throughout the whole bar on both floors making it a great place to catch a game too. Clery’s has a lot of cool weird paintings hanging up, hanging heads of animals and mural paintings on the ceiling that really make the interior pop. What I like the best about Clery’s is the versatility of having the social atmosphere of the upstairs bar, the ability to take a seat and chill out in the restaurant area or experience the nightclub atmosphere of the downstairs. This makes Clery’s a safe bet to go to on any weekend.

Was there really a line around the corner when I went there a few weeks ago? I just kept it moving.

I come here with my girls all the time. Lots of people in their mid and late 20s hanging here. Chill atmosphere and they serve food until pretty late. I like that there was plenty of places to sit down.

Maybe it was just good timing but the line here wasn’t too crazy when I went but I waited less than 5 minutes. The bars upstairs and downstairs were both pretty big. People were dancing downstairs and possibly sweating a little too much and it gave off these real funky stench but besides that, solid place.
