Gem Restaurant & Lounge Boston

The Scene – Up one flight hidden away from the normal Theater District club scene, Gem Restaurant and Lounge has a nice single floor layout. As you reach the top of the stairs, head left to the narrow-ish bar area which has plush, red velvet, loungey VIP-style seating on the left and a long, gorgeous “stonewood” marble bar that covers the length of the right wall. Despite being the only bar in the establishment, it is large enough and has enough staff behind it to handle the load so drink wait times are usually pretty speedy. At the end of the bar is a square shaped dining room that clears out at night and becomes a dance floor. As I’m sure you have noticed from the pictures, the decor is exceptional and Gem has a very upscale vibe to it. The seating, the lighting fixtures and red ambiance, the velvet, cloth and leather seating and the cool backlit bar are all top notch. Plus it is unlike anything else in Boston where you can receive the ultimate “supper club” experience. Dine there and then experience the transition into the nightclub atmosphere. Gem Restaurant and Lounge has a great after work crowd during the weekdays as well. Overall, Gem displays a perfect balance of sophistication, luxury and comfort.
