Atmosphere – Symphony 8 Boston has 2 floors, is fairly new and has a very modern feel to it. Upstairs everything is painted red and black. There is musical decorations all over Symphony 8 Boston and the bar is all black with black stools and has a very sleek look to it. The rest of the upstairs has restaurant seating throughout. Downstairs is their bar called “Prohibited.” It is intended to give off a 1920s speakeasy, prohibition vibe. It has a standard bar set up and some 1920s prohibition era decor which is pretty cool. I would say Symphony 8 is a medium sized venue.

My Opinion – I think this place is pretty cool. It took the place of “Tiger Lily” and is an attractive spot kind of right where Back Bay and the Mission Hill/Northeastern area meet. Upstairs has a really nice modern, new feeling atmosphere and supposedly you need a password to get to their downstairs bar which is called Prohibited. This is more of a college hangout and definitely not a bad place to stop in anytime to have a bite to eat or drink.
